Every program of study in the Center for Business and Economics is built on the premise that success in business depends upon learning a variety of skills-leadership, adaptability, competency in problem solving, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Programs are also designed to accommodate the needs of both traditional-age and adult students. The Center offers majors in 8 different disciplines: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, International Business, Logistics and Transportation Management, Management, and Marketing. In addition to the majors offered within the Center itself, faculty members in the CBE work with their counterparts in several other departments to develop programs of mutual interest such as the environmental management and music business interdepartmental majors. And many Elmhurst students take double majors, combining a business field with another discipline, for example, psychology. Others choose to declare minors in business administration.
