| When you study business at Elmhurst, you become part of a team that
has a very broad view of the world. That's because the Elmhurst College
Center for Business and Economics (CBE) functions in the context of
combining knowledge from the broad-based liberal arts with the emphasis
of a practical major. It's all part of the College's commitment to
purposeful learning and professional excellence.
We know that where our students begin their careers is not where
they will end them, and CBE faculty members work to help students
develop a commitment to lifelong learning so that as graduates, they
can confidently face career growth, change, and development. For
more than 20 years, graduates of CBE programs have had great success
in their chosen careers.
There is no question that our location in the metropolitan Chicago
area is a positive influence in CBE programs. Faculty members have
natural opportunities to maintain close ties with the area's business
community, assuring that courses properly reflect real business practices.
Our location also provides extensive opportunities beyond the classroom.
Members in the business community participate regularly in the Council
of Business Associates, the Mentoring Program, the CPA-in-Residence
Program, and the Entrepreneurship Conference. And many students take
full advantage of easily available opportunities for internships
and field experiences. The CBE also provides international education
opportunities, recognizing that the world of business is increasingly
global and that students must understand the nuances of business
worldwide.
