Mission Statement
The A.C. Buehler Library provides many resources and services that
assist Elmhurst College students in their studies. The faculty and
staff of the library endeavor to teach students how to become independent
and sophisticated library users. In a society where we are bombarded
with information, it is crucial that students learn how to identify,
use and evaluate information. The librarians at Elmhurst College
strive to teach these skills during one-on-one interactions or in
the context of the classroom
The print collection is sizable and reflects the curriculum of the
college. The up-to-date reference section is a great place to begin
researching a new topic. Over 1300 paper magazines and journals are
located at the library; thousands more are available electronically.
The library supplements its print collection by offering over ninety
electronic resource which students can use to find journal and newspaper
articles from on or off-campus.
The A.C. Buehler Library cooperates with hundreds of academic and
public libraries across the country. Students can easily interlibrary
loan books and journal articles gaining access to a world of materials.
Students can use their Jaypass while visiting over forty Illinois
college and university libraries.
Finally, the newly renovated A. C. Buehler Library building is a
model of small academic libraries. Information literacy classes are
taught in a state-of-the-art classroom by professional, highly-skilled
librarians. Students can use any of the fifty-four computer work
stations for research, Internet surfing, or word processing. Quiet
individual and group study rooms, the comfy reading area, and the
