Elmhurst College MBA Online Portfolio

Students in the Elmhurst College MBA program will be required to develop and update an online portfolio over the course of their participation in the program. The purpose of the portfolio is to:

• Summarize activities, projects and outcomes relative to the central themes, core competencies and goals of the MBA program
• Demonstrate linkages among the courses of the program
• Help students articulate their professional goals and development in the program
• Provide a source of assessment for the program
• Help students organize projects, writing samples and other artifacts from the program
• Provide a summary of professional development in the program for use in job searches and career development.

Format

For each course, students will be given a list of central themes, core competencies and specific course goals. Throughout each course, students will be asked to identify how activities and outcomes relate to the themes, competencies and goals. Samples of course assignments and projects will be included. At the end of each course, students will be asked to summarize and articulate how the course linked to other courses and how it contributed to their professional development.

Form

Each student will develop his/her MBA Online Portfolio in the form of a comprehensive website. The website will be made up of a series of web pages outlining the student's reflection on his/her accomplishments related to the MBA program's themes and core competencies. In addition, the student will also showcase his/her accomplishments by incorporating specific projects, assignments and other documents into the Online Portfolio.
