Internships and Field Experiences

Our ties with the business community make it easy to offer extensive internship and field experience programs. These are the programs that provide the hands-on experience of taking what you learn in the classroom and trying it out in the world of work.

Internships are usually part-time work experiences of 18-to-20 hours a week, lasting for a term. Field experiences are January Term opportunities to study for credit in an on-the-job setting. Students may also do multiple experiences (cooperative/internships) as well as vary credit from 1/2, 1, and 1 1/2 courses of credit. Students may also count interships towards several of the majors offered in the CBE.

Business majors recognize the value of these programs as they begin their job searches with work credentials to include on their resumes.

Looking for an Internship or a Field Experience

If you are looking for an internship or a field experience, the first thing you should do is to visit the Career Services Office. It has listings of internship positions, categorized according to academic area of study. In addition, the Office also enable you to seek out internship opportunities through materials in the Career Services library. Finally, do not forget to visit the Career Education Office website for web-based internship information.
